About Roberto Gonzalez

I was born in Puerto Rico and from an early age I was fascinated with  photography.  My first camera was a film camera, Yashica TL-Electro, the name sounds grandiose, but it was a film camera.  I learned from two photographers that took me under their wings and pushed me get the best images I could take as well as teaching me about how to approach a shot.  It was not only point the camera and shoot, it was also framing the subject, checking the light  as well as breathing techniques so I could avoid camera shake.

Thirty years later I bought my first Digital Single Lens reflex camera and jumped into the digital age.  I decided to pursue a degree in the area of Photography and in 2013 graduated from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh Online Division with a Bachelor of Science degree in Photography.

As an older photographer I am able to give and see a different perspective when doing photographic collaborations with clients.  It seems that I have done it all within the last few years: new born, children, graduations, weddings, family reunions, military reunions and of course birthdays of all kinds.  Every single experience is unique and I can  state that no shooting opportunity is too small or too grandiose.  Every single time I take the camera in my hands and look through the viewfinder, I can say that something new or different will be there waiting.

I look forward to be shooting for a long period of time, so go ahead check my work and drop me  a line if you are interested in my work and maybe setting up a shooting collaboration.  Life is short and the memories that we leave behind are our legacy.  Catch life, and I will help you to do it one frame at a time!
